The Gulf Stream is a powerful current that starts at the tip of Florida, travels through the North Atlantic and and affects the weather of western Europe.  Ponce de Leon discovered it in 1512 and it was used to shorten the route to Europe by almost 2 weeks, helping the “Conquista de Las Americas.”

When I moved back to Miami in 2007, my fascination with my Spaniard heritage, a new Conquistador arrived in Florida.  My enjoyment of our flowers and our warm ocean current is an inspiration to my works.
