Surrounded by people that admire nature, most of them scientists in their own right, biologists, botanists and physicists made me aware & fascinated with nature.  There were many days of plant & algae collecting with my botanist aunt. Grandma & her green thumb taught me how to grow plants from cuttings, don't tell abuela not to steal plants from the neighbors! And of course there was mom, fascinated with sunrises and sunsets, she taught me how to differentiate colors - making it easy to learn color theory.
